Short Term Substitute Religion Teacher

St. Edmund Preparatory High School a Catholic co-ed, IB World, college preparatory school located in Brooklyn, NY is currently seeking a substitute religion teacher effective immediately with an end date yet to be determined.
Our mission is to instill the Gospel values in our students so as to empower them to become confident and self-disciplined participants in the ever-changing global society. We educate according to the needs of each student and challenge each of them to achieve academic excellence through practical learning experiences.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Provide clear and consistently high-quality religion instruction for students in grades 9-12
• Create instructional lesson plans and activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in a meaningful learning experience that align with Catholic Church Doctrine and the Bishop's Framework
• Exhibit exceptional classroom management skills and utilize technology to implement effective lesson
• Working collaboratively with other faculty to foster an environment of bold learning
• Create a positive classroom environment that is engaging and fosters student growth
• Display a commitment to diversity and create a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging in approach to teaching and learning

Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in related field

Salary
• Substitute teacher per diem $33 per hour (comparable with NYC DOE).
