SUMMARY: The AIS is responsible for communicating with the classroom teachers in grades K-6 then providing additional support and assistance with current material being taught in which the students are in need of improvement. This position is part-time 3 days per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include but not limited to the following:
Communicate and collaborate with teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom needs
Respond to a wide range of inquiries from students' parents/guardians regarding instructional program and student progress
Implement curriculum
Plan and deliver lessons
Collect and track student progress/data
Create progress reports
Efficiently address academic needs and challenges
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The AIS teacher must be organized and be able to multitask. Must be able to communicate with students and motivate them.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from an accredited College or University is required. Current New York State Certification required. Teaching experience preferred.
