Director of Music and Organist

Our Lady of Hope Parish is seeking a Director of Music and Organist to develop and direct a program of sacred music that will allow parishioners to enter more deeply into divine worship.

Essential functions of the Director of Music:
- To coordinate with the pastor in fostering a prayerful liturgical celebration.
- To provide musical leadership at the Saturday evening and Sunday morning celebrations of the Eucharist.
- To schedule and coordinate cantors and accompanists.
- To recruit, organize and direct regularly scheduled rehearsals for the adult and youth choirs.
- To coordinate with the Pastor and DRE for all major celebrations such as First Communion, Confirmation, school Masses, graduation liturgies, etc.
- To direct and play the organ at all parish weddings and funerals. If unable to attend these service, the director will provide a suitable substitute.
- To plan and coordinate the music for the liturgies of Advent, Lent, Holy Week and Holy Days.
- To maintain parish instruments as well as the upkeep of the parish's music library.

Knowledge of Catholic doctrine and liturgical traditions is required.

* Optional additional position of part-time Music Teacher in Our Lady of Hope Catholic Academy.
