About Aid to the Church in Need - United States
Aid to the Church in Need - USA (ACNUSA) is a small and growing 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Brooklyn, New York. ACNUSA is a Catholic non-profit organization under the auspices of the Vatican. ACNUSA raises funds to support and promote the work of the Church around the world, by providing practical assistance and pastoral care for persons in need, especially Christians who are suffering persecution or discrimination.
Position Summary
The Director of Finance and Operations provides support to the National Director and plays an important role in ensuring that operational tasks are completed. The role offers a wonderful opportunity to learn about and help further Aid to the Church in Need's mission.
Areas of Responsibility include, but are not limited to the following:
The Director of Finance and Operations reports directly to the National Director and is responsible for supervising small staff and various outsourced services that support ACNUSA's day to day operations (i.e., CPA, Audit, HR, IT, and Data Processing companies).
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to performing accounting, bookkeeping, budgeting, analysis, overseeing audits, engaging in donor services, managing personnel, and ensuring and implementing operational efficiencies.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a similar position is required.
• A minimum of three years of experience with Quickbooks is required.
• A minimum of three years of experience in nonprofit accounting is preferred.
Skills
• Knowledge of Raiser's Edge is desirable.
• Strong organizational, analytical, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication (both written and oral), interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Passion for serving our donors.
Physical Requirements
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. The Director of Finance and Operations must have the ability to lift and carry small packages and other items and to travel short distances. In addition, operation of standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines, cellular phones, and the like, is also required. Communication with other employees, both orally and in writing, is required. Reasonable accommodation will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Working Environment
According to the present policies of ACNUSA, the Director of Finance and Operations is expected to be on-site 3 days per week in the office, while the remaining workdays can be done remotely. ACNUSA reserves the right to modify these policies.
Compensation and Hours
Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000 per year
Benefits package range: From individual coverage (approx. $9,500) to spouse and dependent coverage (Approx. $16,000 -$27,800).
Benefits include paid time off, health, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, health savings account, flexible spending account, and 401(k) matching. The benefits package is covered 100% by the employer.
The position is full-time (40 hours/week) with an immediate start date. The typical working hours are Monday through Friday from 9am - 5pm. However, flexibility is needed to accommodate business needs, including periodic attendance at evening and weekend functions.
