Director of Admissions: Fontbonne Hall Academy
Fontbonne Hall Academy, an all-girls College Preparatory Catholic High School, seeks an energetic and experienced Director of Admissions. Founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph, Brentwood, NY, in 1937, Fontbonne has provided generations of young women with a rigorous and well-rounded education and continues to encourage academic curiosity, personal creativity, cultural awareness and spiritual growth.
Job Summary
The Director of Admissions coordinates all admission-related efforts, managing the admissions office staff, budget, materials/equipment, and overall operation. The Director engages in effective community outreach to traditional feeder schools and to new populations and geographical areas in order to attract quality candidates to the school. The Director works out of the office of Admissions located on the Fontbonne Hall Academy campus located at 9901 Shore Rd., Brooklyn NY 11209.
Responsibilities include:
Organize and oversee all applicant visits to the school; coordinate "buddy days" for individual prospective students.
Embody and communicate the vision, mission, and values of Fontbonne Hall Academy.
Plan and implement a yearly admissions calendar that includes a schedule of publications, events, mailings, correspondence, meetings, and other necessary tasks.
Manage a database of prospective students and analyze all data related to every aspect of admissions including increasing enrollment and retention.
Plan and supervise the open houses for prospective students and their parents.
Help prepare an annual recruitment brochure and other marketing and communication materials for elementary school personnel, parishes, parents, and prospective students.
Continually update the Admissions section on the web site and communicate in all areas of social media.
Make presentations at area elementary schools.
Review all scores and data used to determine scholarship awards and present a list of candidates for scholarships to the Admissions Committee.
Review all individual admission materials, and collaborate with the admissions committee and principal to determine student acceptances.
Distribute financial aid information to parents and assist them with applying for it.
Review family financial information and work with the Admissions Committee to determine financial aid awards
Coordinate the registration process for all entering ninth grade students.
Coordinate all aspects of admissions for transfer students.
Provide information regarding transportation services available to/ from Fontbonne Hall Academy
Work with parents of current students, and alumnae, to establish a volunteer liaison for communication, public relations, and recruitment in each parish and/or elementary school.
Develop and conduct follow-up activities, questionnaires, exit interviews, etc. to better understand student retention.
Manage the admissions budget in collaboration with the finance department.
Qualifications and Skills
A Bachelor's degree is required.
Knowledge of, or experience using Finalsite's SchoolAdmin.
A demonstrated record of professional accomplishment, initiative, and attention to detail, preferably in a school environment.
A commitment to accurately, and positively represent Catholic all-girls education in general, and specifically, Fontbonne Hall Academy to the outside world.
Ability to work collegially within a team of educational leaders, volunteers, and Board of Trustees.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficiency with Web and database applications, as well as familiarity with all social media and comfort with and enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
Able to travel locally, and work nights, and weekends, as needed.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in Admissions and Financial Aid.
Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
Salary Range (based on experience)
$75,000 to $80,000
