Although Saint Mark is an elementary school, our middle school program is a "school within a school," where students are prepared for the rigor of high school. Rather than solely focus on test preparation, students should be provided with the mathematical skills needed to succeed in high school: problem solving, logical reasoning, and flexible thinking skills.
Position also includes a homeroom and teaching religion to one class.
Ideal candidates... • actively engage students of all abilities and learning styles • create differentiated unit plans and assessments • assign and review meaningful homework • demonstrate effective classroom management by developing an understanding of students in their classroom • collaborate with faculty, especially other members of the middle school "team" • communicate effectively with parents and families.
Basic qualifications include... • Be committed to the mission of Catholic education • Have a bachelor's degree or higher in mathematics or related field • Hold a valid New York State Certification or be eligible for certification
