Principal

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy in Astoria, New York is seeking a principal for the school year 2023-2024. The position requires a Graduate Degree, a New York State School Administrator/Supervisor certificate, has at least five years experience of classroom teaching, and is passionate about educating elementary school children in the Catholic faith and tradition. Candidates for principal must be willing to lead, communicate, and oversee a faculty of twenty teachers and nearly three hundred students and ancillary staff.
The principal must be willing to assume the day-to-day responsibilities of the school along with developing and supervising the rigor of educational practices, observing classroom teachers on a formal and informal basis, visiting classrooms regularly, and creating a disciplined, safe, and respectful environment where students will thrive. Attendance at school events, parent association meetings, communicating with faculty and community, and reporting to a Board of Directors would be a requirement.
