    The Sisters of Saint Joseph, Brentwood NY, whose mission is to live and work so that all may be one, seek a Justice Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC)Director who will be responsible for addressing these issues. He/she is expected to: deepen awareness that Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation are essential to our mission; inform and inspire the Congregation, Agregees, Associates, and all Partners in Mission to respond to the issues of our time in prayer and action; and function as the Congregation's public face, representative, and recognized point of contact for all JPIC matters. The JPIC Director works in the NYC metropolitan area, and reports to the Leadership Team.

    Qualifications and Requirements
    Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant justice ministry experience
    Familiarity with or openness to understanding the charism of the Sisters of Saint Joseph.
    Contemporary theological education with a focus on Catholic Social Teaching, as well as conversant with the new cosmology.
    Strong oral and written communication skills to coherently articulate the justice agenda for both the organization and the public.
    Strong organizational and technology skills
    Demonstrated leadership skills
    Self-motivated and capable of decision making
    Attentive to language sensitivity in all forms of communication
    A team player able to work collaboratively and integrate other perspectives
    Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed
    Proficiency in a second language (preferred)
    Must show proof of COVID Vaccination

    Responsibilities
    Ensures that all JPIC work and decisions cohere with the CSJ Chapter Direction Statements, and both the Land Ethic and Immigration statements.
    Engages community members, associates, agregees, and partners in mission in concrete activities, both short and long-term, that promote justice.
    Develops educational and reflection opportunities for the whole Joseph family that are focused on all aspects of the justice agenda
    Meets and works collaboratively with CSJ Leadership, and all relevant committees, to discern and prioritize issues to be addressed and develop action steps.
    Plans and implements advocacy, actions, and communications by letter, phone or in-person meetings with public officials on critical justice concerns of the CSJ Congregation and all relevant committees.
    Keeps updated on pending legislation related to critical justice concerns of the CSJ congregation.
    Engages and works with other JPIC coordinators and partners on the local, national and international levels including the CSJ Federation.
    Works with the Director of Communications to ensure coverage of all JPIC endeavors.
    Develops and implements an annual organizing plan based on critical JPIC concerns of the Congregation as stated in key documents mentioned above.
    Prepares, submits, and monitors the JPIC office budget.
    Annually transfers records related to justice advocacy and action to the CSJ Archives.
    Participates in ongoing professional development.
    Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
