Our Lady of Mercy Academy, a Catholic high school for young women, sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, seeks a compassionate, organized, and detailed-oriented Administrative Assistant. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in student development, social-emotional learning, and college counseling. OLMA's Administrative Assistant is highly interactive and communicative in and out of the office, collaborating closely with colleagues on school-wide projects and initiatives. OLMA utilizes Google Suite Workspace, so a mastery of such is critical for the successful support of students and other department members. Additionally, the Administrative Assistant must possess an enthusiastic commitment to the importance of building and sustaining a diverse, just, inclusive, and equitable academic environment. The ideal candidate has a proactive, strategic, and solution-oriented mindset and is a democratic and collaborative leader who possesses strong organizational and communication skills.
The Administrative Assistant to the Wellness Department is responsible for the daily operations and general management of a busy and bustling office. This position works closely with the Director of Wellness, College Counseling, and other counseling staff. Engaging in close communication with college representatives, students, and their families on a daily basis is a critical skill for this position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintaining the office's master calendars
Diligent record keeping
Building and maintaining relationships with college representatives
Maintaining enrollment records
Knowledge and experience using Naviance
Collaboration in planning events, including but not limited to,
College Fairs and Graduation
Scheduling appointments with college representatives, families, and students
Acting as the primary editor and manager of the Naviance database
Compiling and sending application materials
Assisting in the planning and implementing of events, including college nights
Participating in school-wide events
The ideal candidate
Minimum of 5 years experience working in a school setting
Possesses a BA
Demonstrates a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and good follow-through skills
Is flexible and has excellent computer skills
Is a strong collaborator and has a good sense of humor
Has an understanding of the concerns and pressures of adolescents, especially as they engage in the college search and application process
