Discernment/Vocation Minister - Young Adult/Adult Ministry
Pope Francis asked us to create places where we can discern our future with God! Are you the creative self-starter the Pope is talking about? The Franciscan Friars of the Atonement is currently seeking a Discernment and Vocation Coordinator. The ministry coordinates with the Retreat Center to facilitate experiences: retreats for different levels of discernment for men and women (we have a Sister’s community also), days of prayer, concerts, art exhibits, lectures, three month summer interns with time in New York and Rome, mission trips to Puerto Rico and South America, a year-long House of Discernment program in New York City and other ideas you may have. The vocation ministry reviews and assists men joining the Friars.
Awareness and sensitivity in multi-cultural environments, relating respectfully with a diversity of persons, age groups and cultures. Other languages preferred, especially Spanish.
Demonstrated commitment to personal Catholic life-long faith formation, personal and professional growth and an ability to share a growing spiritual maturity.
Relationship building experience and nurturing attitude.
Outreach skills, computer, organizational and social media literacy is required and design experience, video editing, layout is preferred.
Some theological education and pastoral/parish experience in prayer leadership, with prior discernment/vocational experience preferred. Experience in music and different forms of Catholic liturgy is preferred as well as ability to play a musical instrument and lead singing.
Ability to travel internationally is required.
