SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
-Extensive fundraising experience, with at least five years' working in a successful fundraising office in a multi-activity environment
-A history of out-standing fundraising results utilizing networks to support fundraising activity
-Experience with major gifts, bequest promotion, mail appeals, and bequest marketing
-Experience in leading and monitoring a team of fundraising professionals, leaders of service and volunteers
-Track record as an effective supervisor of fundraising staff
-Persuasive and articulate communicator with excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills who can represent CPF to diverse constituencies
-Ability to move comfortably in a wide variety of social settings, including among people of substantial influence and wealth, and the ability to forge solid personal relationships
-Knowledge of current tax laws and IRS regulations that affect charitable giving
-Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical and legal documents, and financial and benefit reports
-Knowledge of and fluency in Information Technology (IT): donor database management software, Microsoft Office Suite, social media and web page management
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
-Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
-Compensation competitive with comparable organizations, and commensurate with capability, experience, and prevailing market trends
-Location: Gallup, New Mexico (Not Remote)
-Due to the size of the diocese, travel within the diocese will be necessary with limited travel outside the diocese
-Education: Bachelor's degree form an accredited college or university required or comparable experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Boards of Directors, the Executive Director will provide vision and management to ensure the Foundation continues growing the assets managed by CPF.
We are looking for someone who can:
-Expand and maximize philanthropic giving to the Foundation
-Identify, solicit and steward major donor relationship
-Maintain a personal portfolio of major gift donors and prospects
-Manage and operate all programs and services provided by the Foundation
-Develop a policy manual for CPF
-Plan, implement, and manage the functions, initiatives, goals, and objectives of the Foundation
-Provide day-to-day supervision of the foundation, working directly with the board of directors, staff, donors, and constituents to achieve expected personal results towards the goals and objectives fo the Foundation
-Provide guidance and counsel to benefactors regarding present and future giving programs
-Monitor and stay current with charitable giving trends and initiatives in the development sector
-Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures specific to CPF, and in collaboration with the board of directors on all organizational policies and procedures
-Monitor and recommend learning and credential opportunities for all of the development team
-Ensure that CPF follows appropriate charitable laws, regulations, and standards
-Direct events sponsored by CPF building visibility and awareness among funders and in the community
-Be familiar with the principles of stewardship set forth in the USCCB Bishops' pastoral letter of "Stewardship: A Disciple's Response," and align those principles with the overall development plan of the Diocese of Gallup.
