The Director of Institutional Advancement is a highly visible senior leadership role, focusing on enhancing the parish and school's positive involvement in the service area, resulting in expanded opportunities for faculty, staff and students to increase external visibility, relationships and activities. As an office, Institutional Advancement serves the parish and school by promoting understanding of its people, programs, policies and needs, resulting in securing adequate public and private support essential to the fulfillment of its mission. Core leadership responsibilities include support of initiatives developed in collaboration with Mary Mother of God Church, Saint Mary School, and the Diocese of Trenton. Locally strengthening the parish and school's role with various private and public entities, and building regional and national relationships with associations, other institutions, and systems. The Director provides strategic and operational oversight. The Director will create a plan and goals that is approved by the Parish Priest.
Work Tasks & Duties
50% "Strategic Planning and Support Serves as a member of the Parish's Executive Team and collaborates with other members in the assessment, development, and implementation of institutional initiatives, policies, and procedures. Coordinates, plans and facilitates Executive Team operational and planning meetings. Confers with the Parish Priest, School Principal, executive staff, the School's Advisory Board, and the Finance Board to determine the strategic, capital, and annual needs of the institution. Through collaboration, facilitates and ensures the development and sustainment of strategic plans, in alignment with system and initiatives. Develops and sustains positive working relationships with local, state, federal government elected officials, administrators, and agency contacts. Communicates with local and state elected officials about the parish and school, local and state services and programs, and recommendations for how the parish and school can support and benefit from these programs."
15% - "Marketing & Strategic Communications Provides input for a comprehensive and cohesive approach to marketing, advertising, interactive media, brand strategy, public relations planning, and associated products. Ensures and demonstrates that the mission and vision of the parish and the school are appropriately represented and all strategies are designed to positively impact enrollment, strengthen community outreach, and to raise financial and community support and advocacy for the Parish and School. "
20% - "Grant Development & Special Projects Provides strategic direction and support for Grants to ensure that opportunities are assessed and applied for within the overall strategic plan and focus of the parish and school. In collaboration with staff, directs the parish and schools' pursuit of grants to expand financial resources and program delivery, as well as identifying the priorities for funding. Prepares, reviews and/or submits public and private grant proposals. Oversees the administration and compliance of grant awards."
15% - "Operational Responsibilities Ensures continuous oversight of Institutional Advancement finances, to include all applicable departmental budgets, grants, and investments. Develops an annual report of activities for distribution to board members, donors, and other interested parties. Represents Institutional Advancement at Local Board and Foundation Board meetings, to include summary of activities, key accomplishments, challenges, and upcoming focuses. Manages budgets, restricted and unrestricted accounts, and record-keeping systems of the investment portfolio. Collaborates with Financial Services/Accounting with regard to accounts, resources, investments and financial statements. Responds to audit findings regarding development activities in conjunction with the parish and schools's investment account, as necessary. Responds to grant compliance audit findings in collaboration with Financial Services. "
