The Religious Education (RE) Administrative Assistant for St Peter the Apostle Church is responsible for providing administrative and secretarial support for the Director of Religious Education (DRE) and the RE department. The RE Administrative Assistant is a part-time position.(20 hrs, M-Thur)
Responsibilities:
The RE Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing support and assistance to the DRE in all aspects of the RE program, from processing registrations to ordering office supplies to updating the parish Sacrament records. In this capacity, the Administrative Assistant will have the following responsibilities:
Maintaining ParishSOFT database
Creating and maintaining detailed lists in MS Excel/Google Sheets
Providing detailed reports
Word processing, filing, and record keeping
Managing communication
Working on special projects as needed
Maintaining inventory of office supplies
Answering phone calls and emails
Interacting with parents - in person, by phone and by email
Interacting with and assisting catechists
Assist as needed with Sacrament liturgies and services (some on weekends)
Qualifications:
The desirable candidate must be a Catholic in good standing and lead a life in accord with Catholic teachings and beliefs. Candidate must be very detail-oriented, organized, and poised. The candidate needs to be a creative self-starter, who is willing and able to follow directions. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets and Word/Google Docs is essential. Willingness to learn and develop aptitude in the parish and RE tracking database is required. Bilingual in Spanish is required.
