Holy Spirit School, a PreK-3 to Grade 8 elementary school, located in Pequannock, NJ is seeking a part-time School Secretary. This position performs administrative functions and keeps complex records, always maintaining confidentiality. The secretary reports directly to the School Principal.
Major Responsibilities and/or Essential Functions:
v Maintain student records
o Contact database
o New student registration
o Transfer student withdrawal
v Create and modify school calendar electronically
v Process reports for Diocese of Paterson, NCEA, and Morris County Educational Services
v Book orders
v Coordinate the Virtus "Protecting God's Children" Program
o Oversees training and database of all staff and volunteers for parish and school
o Sending out weekly email blasts to school community
o Maintain school website
o Help with publicity
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
v Familiarity with Rediker (School Management System), Google Calendar, Constant Contact and/or Flocknote, and basic web design/social media posting.
v Effective communicator able to collaborate with other teachers and staff
v Be a compassionate and joyful presence to students and their families
v Bachelor's Degree or 2-4 years direct related experience
Nature of Work:
v Part Time (flexible hours) 25 hours per week
v Must pass a criminal background check as required by NJ Dept. of Education and attend child abuse awareness training ("Protecting God's Children") and abide by Diocesan Code of Conduct.
