St Teresa of Avila parish is a Catholic Church seeking to promote and grow the works of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To that end, we are looking for a meticulous, generous and detail-oriented service coordinator to:
(1) evaluate the spiritual and corporal needs of our community with regard to the Gospel works of mercy;
(2) make recommendations for new services and ministries; and
(3) suggest improvements to existing services in light of the signs of the times.
The service coordinator's responsibilities include advocating for the care of the poor and disenfranchised, explaining the available options, ministries, and resources, helping to plan services and opportunities, and keeping records of the services, programs and ministries offered. The service coordinator will keep a keen eye to the most vulnerable among us and help create access to services, ministries and resources that are needed.
The successful service coordinator will:
(A) know, love and live the Gospel,
(B) be service-oriented with excellent organizational and record-keeping skills;
(C) have strong communication and interpersonal skills;
(D) be a team player and should be able to deal with all people with empathy, compassion and respect.
Service Coordinator Responsibilities:
Assessing the needs of our local and expanded community and linking them to the appropriate resources, ministries and providers.
Facilitating and growing programs, services, and ministries - offering training to volunteers and promotions and awareness to those in need.
Developing a resource directory of local social service agencies, ministries and providers for easy access.
Advocating for the poor and vulnerable with educational and awareness programs in order to change systemic exclusion and limiting services and resources.
Serving as a member of a dynamic parish team and spirit-filled congregation.
Monitoring the ministries and services being provided and staying up to date on any needing to be introduced, altered or discontinued.
Evaluating the quality of all ministries and services and identifying areas that need improvements and/or alterations.
Following up with the faithful regularly to assess and ensure their respective satisfaction with giving and receiving of services.
Responding to complaints and resolving issues or matching needs with better services and ministries

Service Coordinator Requirements:
An associate's or bachelor's degree in theology, psychology, social work, or a related field.
Strong work ethic and service skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Staying up to date with services, ministries, policies, and regulations of the Archdiocese and Catholic and other agencies.
Strong record-keeping and analytical skills.
Creative and forward thinking, with the ability to translate best practices and data driven trends into practical ministry.
Deep faith and personal commitment to the life of the Catholic Church.
Demonstrated leadership and organizational ability, skills and desire for collaboration, together with ability to take initiative and work independently.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of groups.
Must be detailed-oriented, able to handle multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite programs and Google Suite applications.
