Lake Tahoe: Elementary Classroom Assistant

Located near the shores of beautiful Lake Tahoe, Saint Clare's is a Catholic Montessori school seeking a full-time Elementary Assistant for the 2023/2024 school year.

Saint Clare's is a Catholic Montessori school in the Diocese of Reno, in its fifth year of operation, serving fifty students. At Saint Clare's we combine a vibrant Catholic community, an authentic Montessori curriculum and a passion for outdoor exploration and adventure. Anchored in Saint Clare's love of the eucharist with school wide participation in weekly mass and adoration, our mission is to help students know the Truth, love the good and to grow into the fullness of their created potential.

We are looking for a dynamic candidate interested in working as the assistant in our elementary classroom. Candidates will have the opportunity to work alongside our talented lead guide in a joyful, light-filled classroom. Daily responsibilities include helping students with follow-up work, answering questions and guiding students in choosing appropriately challenging work, assisting with record keeping, parent communication and weekly outdoor adventures.

The ideal candidate:
• Shares the school's Catholic values and has strong moral character
• Enjoys working with elementary aged students (6-12)
• Has a joyful, positive disposition and strong classroom management skills
• Has strong written and verbal communication skills
• Has a love of the outdoors

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd experience or willingness to attend training is required.

Professional development opportunities are available for applicants who are a great fit for our school community but lack training/experience.
