The Director of Counseling leads the Counseling Department in being Christ for others by providing the coordination, guidance and leadership for the Department, its focus, and priorities. This position actively participates as a member of the Administrative Team, Curriculum Committee, Administrative Council and Scholarship Committee, and provides counseling and consultation for students, staff and parents including: individual, groups, crisis, grief, career, college and testing.
• The Director of Counseling must possess the appropriate licensure credentials required by the Nebraska Department of Education for this area of expertise, as well as possess a working knowledge of local, State, and Federal laws and mandated reporting • Strong written and oral communication skills are essential in order to maximize the effectiveness of time on behalf of students' needs • Previous experience in counseling and a working knowledge of educational/counseling technology is preferred • The incumbent must possess a valid driver's license in order to attend meetings and conferences as appropriate
