The Principal is the director of instruction and chief academic officer of the school. The Principal reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer and has primary responsibility for daily operation of academic and student life functions, with particular emphasis on leadership and vision in curriculum and instruction. In coordination with other members of the administrative tea m, the Principal participates fully in the life of the school, engaging faculty, staff, students, and parents in ways that reflect Pius X High School's commitment to education, service, and the Catholic faith. With an awareness of current educational trends and forecasts, the Principal is expected to maintain and lead the continual evolution of a relevant and cutting-edge curriculum that incorporates the mission.
Preferred Masters in Educational Administration (K-12) or prior Educational Leadership Experience (3-5 years minimum recommended) Teaching or Administrative Certification with the State of Nebraska Must be able to fulfill and execute all of the requirements as stated in the Diocesan Administrators Manual (E. Principal III.36 - III.61) Is hired either by the pastor or superintendent, appointed by the Ordinary, or assigned by the religious superior in accordance with the process established by the Diocesan Education Office. The principal must be a Catholic in good standing with the Church, who is willing to teach and follow the teachings of the Church, and must be certified by the State of Nebraska. The incumbent shall be a spiritually-motivated, practicing Roman Catholic with excellent communication skills, a future-oriented academic vision, knowledge of current educational methods, an understanding of a multicultural environment, and proven leadership skills. The incumbent must possess a valid driver's license in order to attend meetings and conferences as appropriate.
