Upper School Teachers

Divine Mercy Academy is an independent classical school in the Catholic tradition, offering preschool to grade 12. DMA is accepting applications for full time and part time upper school (grades 7-12) teaching positions. Possible subject areas include Fine Arts (art and music), history, literature/composition, math and science.

Teachers at Divine Mercy Academy are expected to communicate frequently and charitably with parents, collaborate with fellow teachers and school personnel, plan lessons that align with our classical curriculum and pedagogy, and manage classroom behavior that leads to student growth in virtue. The teaching team at DMA works together to cultivate an orderly and joyful school environment; this includes occasionally supervising study hall, attending faculty meetings and professional development, and planning multi-grade enrichment activities.

The preferred candidate:
-Is a practicing Catholic in communion with the Magisterium of the Church.
-Is dedicated to learning about the mission and vision of DMA and bringing that to life in the classroom and school culture.
-Understands the importance of mentoring students and holding them to high expectations, in both academics and comportment, with the aim of their human flourishing and ultimately, sainthood.
-Models virtuous behavior for students, faculty and families, most especially charity, self-control, prudence, patience and fortitude.
-Exhibits calm, good humor and sound judgment in varying and, at times, stressful situations.
