Description
Church of the Annunciation in Kearney is seeking a full time Operations/Business Manager 1. This position is responsible for the efficient and effective administration of the financial, physical plan and human resources of the parish.
The Operations/Business Manager 1 is responsible for a limited range of parish administrative functions. Positions at this level do not supervise parish employees and typically perform a significant amount of technical work in addition to administrative duties. The Operations/Business Manager 1 reports to the Pastor or Administrator and requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and experience overseeing accounting systems.
Essential Duties:
• Manage and prepare financial reports and statements, including but not limited to regular financial reports and end of year fiscal reports.
• Prepare, administer, and review budget process in collaboration with Finance Council and Pastor.
• Meet regularly with Finance Council and Pastor, to review finances.
• Monitor and promote online giving.
• Perform routine duties to maintain parish offering system.
• Act as liaison between parish and the diocese in financial matters including membership updates and spirituality reports.
• Process accounts receivable and account payable in a timely manner utilizing QuickBooks.
• Supervise independent contract workers.
• Manage membership records and record weekly contributions.
• Meet with individuals in need of financial assistance to determine eligibility and process any needed documents.
• Buy, maintain, and organize office and kitchen supplies.
• Write weekly mass announcements.
• Record minutes of staff meetings.
• Maintain church, office and Annunciation Community Center calendars.
• Manage all parish communications including phone, mail, email, website, and program activities.
• Maintain parish website.
• Photograph events as requested. Oversee Annunciation Community Center rentals and agreements.
• Administrator of FORMED subscription.
• Maintain all compliance documentation. (OSHA/SAFETY)
• Manage payroll and human resources functions.
• Other administrative tasks that may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledgeable in budgeting, general ledger, fixed assets, cash flow management, accounts payable, payroll and financial reporting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills - highly collaborative and an effective team member.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Handles confidential information with integrity.
• Maintains a courteous and professional manner.
Basic Qualifications:
• Microsoft Word, Excel and QuickBooks or other accounting software experience necessary.
• Intermediate skills in general ledger systems and Excel.
• Familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is an asset.
