Description
St. Therese Catholic Church is seeking a director to manage its Early Childhood Center's day-to-day operation and provide supervision, encouragement and guidance for each staff person. The director will aid in program and staff needs, assists in the development and implementation of procedures to attend to those needs. Ensures that all guidelines and criteria of Missouri Child Care Licensing, NAEYC Accreditation, and other stakeholders are followed. Ensures a safe and educational environment for young children. This is a full time position based on a 40 hour work week.
Requirements
Essential Job Functions:
• Responsible for the overall direction and coordination of the St. Therese Early Education Center (EEC).
• Maintain high quality child care standards based on developmentally appropriate practices.
• See that the virtues of the Catholic Faith permeate the classroom, play rooms and recess activities.
• Incorporate in the EEC the values of the Catholic Church and model the faith within the EEC community.
• Recruit, interview, hire, train, and supervise all staff members of the Child Care staff team to carry out St. Therese EEC's philosophy of child care, NAEYC guidelines, and state licensure requirements. All this in coordination with the Head of Schools.
• Plan, develop, schedule and/or provide in-service training and staff evaluations quarterly.
• Maintain current records on each child in accordance with licensure requirements. Aided by Assistant to Director, particularly in this.
• Monitor child/staff ratio and take action to balance staff available to children and their needs.
• Organization and implementation of childcare waiting lists to ensure smooth transition for staff and new families at the center. Aided by Assistant to Director in a special way, here.
• Maintain comprehensive communication and effective communication with faculty and staff.
• Maintain open, consistent, and effective communication with parents, providing parent education training, assistance and support as needed.
• Ensures that facilities and equipment are safe and maintained in compliance with licensing requirements. Reports needed repairs, replacements, and additions to the Director of Facilities.
• Works with monitoring personnel such as Licensing, Sanitation, Fire Safety, and NAEYC. Reports findings to the Director of Facilities and Operations Director immediately.
• Conducts monthly fire drills and quarterly tornado drills as required by licensing.
• Maintain state licensure and NAEYC accreditation status by adhering to their respective guidelines.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or related experience, Master's preferred.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in early childhood education.
• Practicing Catholic in good standing with a pastor's letter of recommendation.
