A unique opportunity exists to help found a new undergraduate nursing program at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, Winona Campus. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Pre-Licensure program is approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing and accredited by Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The first cohort of freshman nursing students began their studies in Fall 2021 and will graduate in May 2025.
As a member of the founding team, the Nursing Faculty will join the curriculum development already underway. In Fall 2025, we will continue to refine the newly designed nursing courses and clinical rotations for four cohorts of nursing students. The nursing curriculum uses a concept-based approach to teaching and a competency-based approach to assessment. Canvas Online Learning Platform, ATI learning resources, and CAE and Gaumard simulation technology are utilized to enhance student learning. The Nursing Faculty member develops, teaches, monitors, and evaluates courses in the baccalaureate pre-licensure program. Responsibilities may be a mix of classroom, skills lab, simulation, and clinical as suited to the individual faculty member's area of expertise. Saint Mary's University is dedicated to human flourishing, which is manifested through how we infuse character education and virtue formation in our curriculum and foster a culture of inclusion and human dignity.
In all job responsibilities, the Nursing Faculty member must support, respect, and advance the mission of Saint Mary's University as a Lasallian Catholic institution as well as the BSN Program mission.
