Overview:
Father Gabriel Richard High School is dedicated to forming disciples of Christ in an authentically Catholic community. We are currently seeking a musically-gifted individual who espouses our core values of Love God, Love Others, Love Learning, and Pursue Excellence. The music teacher is responsible for the continued development of music programs at FGR to build upon the already exceptional reputation of these programs, continue to seek opportunities to nurture the talents of students, and grow the programs.

FGR Principal and Shared Services Director
Qualifications:
Educational: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and JQ Certification or equivalent. Preferred: An M.A. in Music Education, Education, or a related field
Personal:
Qualified Catholic in good standing
Has a passion for bringing youth into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
Ability to work cooperatively with administration, teaching staff, students and parents in the ongoing task of providing the best possible education for all students
Willingness to accept constructive criticism
Ability to function under stress
Evidenced planning ability
Adaptable to changing situations
Major Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with the instructional leader and members of the Fine/Performing Arts Department.
Leads the FGR Music Program which includes but is not limited to:
Evening practices and performances
Donor parties
Elementary & Middle School Engagements
Auctions
Open Houses
Event nights
Summer performances
Funerals
Competitions
Leading music arrangements for Spring Musical and Dramalums Summer Performance
Teach the following courses
Choir
Honors Choir (Madrigals)
Band
Planning and Preparation: to plan in advance for daily lesson presentations, lesson plans shall be kept up-to-date and will contain logically sequenced objectives based on adopted curriculum. Plans will be submitted according to school policies and will utilize best practices in education.
Instruction: to provide a classroom learning situation which adheres to the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of FGR.
Student Control and Discipline: to be responsible for the order, attention and well-being of students under your care in the classroom setting.
Recording and Reporting: to keep daily written records and entering attendance in FGR's online system, and building requirements as they pertain to matter of record keeping. To meet with parents in regularly scheduled conferences and/or whenever necessary to report individual pupil progress.
Co-Curricular Participation: to participate on a voluntary basis in planning for and supervising co-curricular student activities and functions approved by the school.
Professional Development: to show evidence of continuous growth in the teaching profession.

Evaluation:
Performance for this position will be evaluated by the Shared Services director with the FGR Principal.
