Job Title: Kitchen Coordinator Reports to: General Manager Organization: The Shrine of Jesus The Divine Mercy Job Hours: This is a non-exempt, part-time position. Some evening and weekend work will be necessary. Tuesday - Friday 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Hours may vary.
Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled Cook to prepare soups and other simple meals daily and for special events. They must be able to move around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is important.
Skills: • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.) • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly • Check quality of ingredients • Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
Responsibilities: • Proven experience as cook • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.) • Ability to work with others and coordinate a schedule for kitchen volunteers • Very good communication skills • High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school would be an advantage
