Middle School Teacher

Spiritus Sanctus Academy in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is accepting applications for an enthusiastic and committed middle school teacher for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Principal duties and responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Catholic educational mission of the school
- Using virtue-based methods to foster discipleship and a classroom environment conducive to growth and learning
- Preparing and delivering sound instruction to advance students toward mastery of curriculum content
- Effectively assessing student learning and performance
- Possessing and teaching organizational habits to foster an environment of learning and growth
- Collaborating with school administration, faculty, staff and parents to maximize students' spiritual, intellectual, social and physical formation
Desirable candidates will possess the following qualifications:
- A faithful practicing Catholic, living the teachings of the Church, who is passionate about creating, supporting and nurturing a Catholic culture in the classroom and broader school community
- Current State Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education, or Secondary Education with a subject area endorsement (or be willing and able to attain teaching certification in the State of Michigan)
- Strong communication, organizational and teamwork skills
- Previous experience teaching in a Catholic school is preferred
- Completion of Protecting God's Children/VIRTUS safe environment training and a background check will be required
