The Pastoral Associate (PA) will be a full-time member of the Pastoral Staff and report to the Pastor. The PA will be responsible for Evangelization, Adult Faith Formation and Outreach/Promotion. The mission of the PA will be to invite and assist people to grow in faith, and help form committed disciples of Jesus Christ who truly know Him and love Him and seek to draw others into closer relationship with Him and His Church. An important consideration in this effort will be to engage the whole person: head, heart and hands. The PA will develop creative approaches to Evangelization, Adult Faith Formation and spiritual enrichment, and work collaboratively with other staff members and volunteers, including those involved with R.C.I.A., Baptism Preparation, liturgy and other adult programs to facilitate spiritual growth in Catholics and non-Catholics searching for more in their faith-life. The PA will work with the Pastor to assure the implementation of the goals of the Parish Pastoral Plan, including the development of small group opportunities for people who seek to deepen their personal relationship with Jesus, and for those who want to become intentional disciples. This person will also be a key member of the leadership team of the parish family-based faith formation program (Bridge), addressing its adult faith-formation components. Another central responsibility of the PA will be outreach/promotion including personal contact, and the utilization of robust and diverse communication platforms - all with an emphasis to connect with marginal Catholics and people of little or no faith. The PA will work closely in collaboration with the Pastor, Director of Family Faith Formation and other members of the staff to assure a unified message and tone in all communication platforms, and supervise a p/t Communications Coordinator who will provide graphic design and other technical expertise to effectively convey the desired messaging.
