We are looking for a candidate for the Archdiocese of Boston Benefits Department who has the aptitude to learn new skills, processes, and online systems, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging, yet supportive work environment. This is a great entry level position for someone with strong administrative and organizational skills who wants to learn more about benefits. You will be part of a collaborative team that administers multiple benefit programs offered to 3,500+ employees working at 400+ locations throughout the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as the first point of contact to the Benefits Department by answering in-bound telephone calls on the main line and redirecting calls to the appropriate member of the Department as needed.
Prepare, mail, and distribute weekly, monthly, and other mailings as needed, including new hire, pension, termination, annual notice, and High Deductible Health Plan mailings. Utilize mail merge function as appropriate.
File records in various files for active employees, retirees, etc.
Assist with data entry and data scrubs.
Assist with maintaining contact lists for all locations; monitor email address discrepancies and update emails addresses.
Print and assemble benefits materials and packets, including new hire packets.
Scan and/or copy files, cards, and other benefits-related documents.
Wellness program administration: Update HRA and HSA group status of employees in BAS, update wellness reports and award HRA and HSA points, and upload reports to HealthEquity portal. Handle data entry for HRA/HSA accounts, including Wellness Rewards submissions.
Provide administrative assistance with planning for health fairs, flu clinics, and other on-site wellness events. Reserve rooms and prepare sign-up sheets as needed.
Regularly update benefits website and Intranet as needed. Update pages for seasonal changes (open enrollment, pension plan lump sum offers, etc.)
Maintain updated benefits documents for mailings and presentations; dispose of outdated documents.
Process monthly vendor invoices by obtaining necessary approvals, saving invoices on Benefits drive, and forwarding to Finance.
Monitor office supplies and submit orders to WB Mason.
Review and sort mail.
Other duties as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field is preferred but not required. Relevant work experience considered in lieu of college degree.
One to two years of experience in a Human Resources and/or Benefits and/or Communications function preferred.
Strong Microsoft skills, particularity in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Experience with PDF Xchange Editor, graphic design, website maintenance, and webinar programs a plus.
Knowledge of payroll and benefits software a plus.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance preferred.
Ability to prioritize, work efficiently, complete tasks within deadlines, and multitask.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience in handling confidential information.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to communicate effectively through e-mail and/or telephone.
Willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Church. The ability to comfortably work with priests and religious sisters is greatly desired.

Ability to use a computer keyboard for up to 8 hours/day.
Ability to sit for up to 8 hours/day.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
