The National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton exists to promote the life and legacy of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton as a source of inspiration and encouragement for all people. The Seeds of Hope Coordinator helps achieve this mission by reaching out to people that live "on the margins of society", welcoming them to the Shrine, and fostering relationships with them.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Foster relationships with those living in difficult situations and those who serve them.
Identify and reach out to potential partner organizations and parishes that are helping those persons living in poverty or in other difficult and isolating situations.
Oversee the Prayer Line Ministry and look for ways to support and foster relationships with callers and donors that we call.
Spend time with "Seeds of Hope Family" at retreats and other community building events.
Create and maintain connections with local Vincentian organizations such as Seton Center and the Vincent de Paul Society.
Oversee and mentor those seminarians assigned to the Shrine through the "Pastoral Field Education" (PFE) program in collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator.
Plan for and oversee the execution of Seeds of Hope retreats and events.
Schedule Seeds of Hope retreats and events with partner organizations and/or groups from specific regions etc.
Manage the team of religious sisters, volunteers, and Prayer Line staff to plan for all aspects of the retreat day including but not limited to invitations, promotional materials, content, schedule, food, logistics, transportation, and safety.
Be present at the majority of Seeds of Hope retreats to provide leadership and support.
See to proper management of SHM assets and records.
Keep robust and clear records regarding the events and the participants at each retreat and event.
Oversee the keeping of confidential records regarding the Prayer Line callers' personal intentions, ensuring that they are placed at Mother Seton's altar of relics in a timely manner.
See to the proper use of SHM equipment and leased/licensed space.
Monitor the relationship that Seeds of Hope has with DCM ministries such as dietary staff and housekeeping etc. informing the Associate Director of Programs as needed.
Adhere to established budget when making expenditures; assist Programs Director in preparing annual budget preparations and completing monthly variance reports.
Be mindful of the safety of Shrine visitors, program participants, volunteers, and staff and respond as appropriate.
Perform other related duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Able to sustain a peaceful, professional demeanor in stressful situations and with a variety of personalities.
High emotional intelligence, able to read people and situations and respond with wisdom.
Must be a practicing Catholic with general knowledge of Catholic theology and devotions.
Leadership experience in a ministry or social services setting required.
Annual CPR/AED/First Aid training required (provided).
Mental Health training required (provided).
DESIRED SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Fluency in Spanish preferred.
Computer experience, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, Outlook, and Teams preferred.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Physically able to sit, stand, or walk for 4+ hours without sitting and move/lift up to 35 lbs.
Able to climb stairs.
SCHEDULE
• 40 hours/week
• Generally, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week including some weekends and evenings for retreats/events
