Loyola University Maryland seeks an experienced, collaborative, and student centered Campus Minister to serve as the Assistant Director for Faith Formation in the Office of Campus Ministry. The Assistant Director will strengthen Loyola's Jesuit Catholic tradition, mission and identity through the accompaniment of students in their search and relationship with God, leading retreats, forming faith sharing groups and providing oversight of the R.C.I.A. process and weddings at Loyola University Maryland's Alumni Memorial Chapel. This position works collaboratively with a team of colleagues supporting the spiritual and faith development of students, promoting a faith that does justice and building community of inclusion and belonging. The Assistant Director is a full-time 12 month/year position and reports to the Director of Campus Ministry.
In-depth knowledge of the Catholic faith and theology along with an appreciation and respect for diversity of faiths and traditions. Skills and experience planning and leading faith-based retreats.Exceptional organization skills. Commitment to engaging college students in spiritual and social justice issues. Experience and ability to foster religious literacy and fluency in diversity, pluralism, and inclusion. Possess exceptional interpersonal skills and enthusiasm.
Knowledge of office practices, procedures, systems, and equipment. Working knowledge of Archdiocesan and parish structures and operations. Knowledgeable and comfortable with church documents on liturgy and the sacraments. Masters degree in Divinity, Theology, Religious Studies, Ministry or related field and 1-3 years of experience.
