The Archdiocese of Baltimore Department of Catholic Schools, seeks an Associate Superintendent to join our team. The Associate Superintendent is responsible for all aspects of supporting assigned school(s). In concert with the Superintendent of Catholic Schools, supervises Archdiocesan school leadership to ensure strong Catholic identity, academic and programmatic excellence and a strategic vision to address long-term viability and sustainability of Archdiocesan schools.
The Associate acts as the liaison with the Maryland State Department of Education, Maryland Catholic Conference, and the Council for American Private Education.
Job Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to the following):
• Acts as the primary contact for an assigned school's inquiries, issues, and concerns, collaborating across departments to provide the necessary expertise, guidance, and support to the principal.
• Reviews and supports curriculum revision to support continuous improvement in response to student assessment data.
• Ensures that the school has developed a Continuous Improvement Plan that results from an analysis of current data and is focused on providing a Christ-centered and academically excellent education for each student. Monitors progress toward the achievement of those goals.
• Conducts annual visits to Archdiocesan schools and provides written comment to include commendations, recommendations and required actions as oversight for the accreditation, and monitors a required action plan to address improvement areas.
• In concert with the Superintendent of Catholic Schools supervises and supports school leadership and provides feedback regarding the performance of the principal and the school.
• Assists with school marketing, enrollment and retention in conjunction with the Director of Enrollment Management.
• Shares responsibility with the Director of Enrollment Management and the Office of Communication in promoting high marketing events and the publication of the annual Guides.
• Assists in the development of the agenda for Collaborative Leadership meetings.
• Assists in the development of Principal Leadership meetings.
• Participates in the annual review of Archdiocesan school budgets.
• Supports the delivery of professional development opportunities that address the needs of school faculty and administration.
Job Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be a practicing Catholic in full communion with the teachings of the Catholic Church and hold a minimum of a Master's Degree in educational administration/supervision.
Other qualifications include:
• A minimum of 5 years as an Administrator/educator in a Catholic school and/or institution of higher learning sensitive to the needs of racially and ethnically diverse communities
• Knowledge of current trends in Catholic education PK-12
• Ability to align resources and materials related to the development of curriculum and the methodology of teaching
• Skilled in working with a highly qualified and professional school leadership teams; excellent written and verbal skills
• Strong desire to operate collaboratively in a team environment.
