Parish Catechetical Leader

Description: This full-time position is primarily responsible for assessing the situational needs of each parish family and preparing them for the sacraments of initiation. The PCL will work closely with parents, the principal, religion teachers, and catechists within or outside of our school ministry to provide Catholic Identity and effective formation. They should initiate the planning for celebrating sacraments, serve as a resource in areas of prayer and liturgy, and provide support to volunteers for sacraments and a youth group. Compensation is based upon Archdiocesan guidelines ranging from $34,000-45,000 with benefits.
Qualifications:
o Fully initiated, practicing Catholic who fully adheres to Church teaching in faith and morals,
modeling Christian virtue.
o A degree in religious education, studies, or theology, as well as experience working for the Church, is preferred
o Skilled with discernment, assessing the merit of ideas or solutions to help bring about the best results.
o Skilled with motivation, generating enthusiasm and action around initiatives, and inspiring others to take action.
o Willing to seek out and continue personal and spiritual development, while growing in one's knowledge of theology, Scripture, and catechesis.
o Certification in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd 1 is preferred.
