The Advancement Officer guides great stories by incarnating our core values personally and by inviting benefactors to be connected personally and to support financially the mission of St. Lawrence. The Officer thrives on telling the story of the Center - past, present, and future - and on showing the impact giving has on our story and the stories of benefactors. The Director takes responsibility for cultivating the relationships and resources needed for St. Lawrence to accomplish and advance her mission. The Officer is a practicing Catholic who upholds Church teachings both in word and by manner of life. Experience in benefactor relations and fundraising preferred. The Officer must be visionary, fearless, personable and zealous about the mission. The Officer must be a strong collaborator, trustworthy, and able to articulate in a compelling way the mission of St. Lawrence. The Officer must be able to ask people personally for substantial financial commitments.
Responsibilities (40 hours)
Board of Directors (6)
-Updates the Board bi-weekly on Center events and progress.
-Schedules and runs the monthly Executive Board meeting
-Recruits and engages new board members.
-Plans and executes the quarterly board meetings.
Top Benefactors (15)
-Maintains a strong and current list of top St. Lawrence prospects, and with the Director strategically solicits significant annual, major and planned gifts.
-Manges major fund or capital drives as needed.
New Gifts (10)
-Strategizes to personally add 25 new donors each year to the Center who have a sustained commitment to our mission. New donors typically come from our parents, recent alumni, and by reconnecting with old alumni, and through referrals.
KU Catholic Chapters (10)
-Finds chairpersons and activates KU Catholic chapters in key geographic areas to connect current students, parents and alumni to the Center. The goal is to add 2 chapters per year until we have 20.
Staff and Admin Responsibilities (5)
30 minutes supervisory weekly.
30 minutes team
60 minute staff meeting weekly
90 minutes work/strategy session with Director weekly
Other staff days of recollection and collaboration as needed.

Compensation: Salaried. Reasonable Work and Travel Expenses Reimbursed. Annual raise considered June 30th of each year. Full Archdiocesan Benefit Package Offered. Continuing Education by Request.
