Director of Liturgical Music, Iowa City, Iowa: The Newman Catholic Student Center at The University of Iowa is searching to fill the position of Director of Liturgical Music. The Newman Center serves students at The University of Iowa for the purpose of making disciples for the Church and the world. The Director of Liturgical Music is considered a part of a missionary team that strives to be United in Christ and calls upon the Holy Spirit to aide us in becoming bold, loving, and unstoppable in our mission. Requirements: a practicing Catholic in good standing with a familiarity and appreciation of the diversity of musical traditions within the Church, a working knowledge of the norms of Catholic liturgy, and the communication, organization, and leadership skills necessary to working within campus ministry. Bachelor's degree in music or equivalent education and experience, two plus years in music and liturgical ministry: preferably working with young adults, competency on piano or guitar as well as vocal skills are necessary. This is a part-time position with fluctuating hours within the academic seasons. Competitive salary commensurate with education and experience.
