Music Teacher

St. James School in Washington, Iowa is seeking a part time #144 endorsed music teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. Duties include teaching music class to students in prek-5th grade, planning and presenting two concerts per year, and supervisory duties as assigned.

Washington is located in Washington County with approximately 7,000 people. We are about 40 minutes from Iowa City. St. James School has a long-standing tradition of providing a well-rounded education in a Catholic setting for 150+ years. The current staff continues to maintain the tradition of providing high quality academic programming while guiding students in grades preschool through fifth as they develop into life-long learners of their Christian faith. We are a PBIS school, we attend Mass on Fridays, and students have Faith Formation twice per week. Our school is made up of diverse families and classrooms. St. James has small class sizes with an average ratio of 1:15. We offer ELL and Title 1 services in reading and math, speech, and band lessons onsite. We collaborate with the public school for special education services.
