3D Artist

We’re looking for a 3D Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have three or more years of 3D modeling experience, sculpting, texturing and lighting expertise. In addition to technical skills, the candidate will have a great eye for design and a strong creative side with a portfolio of high quality renders showcasing their abilities.

The 3D Artist must be highly motivated, disciplined with their time, and work well as a part of a virtual team.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team environment to create and edit 3D models
• Model, sculpt, and edit 3D objects and environments for Unity and UE5
• Create and edit textures materials for 3D models and environments
• Create 3D Characters and clothing designs
• Optimize and decimate high polygon models
• Develop and document best practices for 3D modeling and mesh optimization processes within a team environment

Required skills and qualifications

The 3D Artist will be familiar with the following software packages (or equivalent)

• Unity
• Maya or equivalent (C4D, Blender etc)
• Substance Designer for the creation of high quality textures
• ZBrush or an equivalent sculpting tool
• Marvelous Designer

The 3D Generalist will also be familiar with the following:

• Editing UV maps
• Creating and editing PBR materials
• Working with game assets in Unity (meshes, animations, materials, shaders)
• Cloth and rigid body physics in Unity
• Optimizing assets for performance (GPU and CPU)

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Experience working with photogrammetry assets
• University or College graduate of a related 3D animation program (candidates demonstrating a strong portfolio and relevant work experience will also be considered)
• Experience with iClone 8 and Character Creator 4 is an asset
• Character design and animation is an asset
• Experience with the UE5 Game Engine is an asset
• Experience with lighting and post processing in Unity is an asset
• Interest in Catholic Theology, history, and the Lives of the Saints
