Role and Responsibilities

As our Publicist Extraordinaire, you will be the driving force behind the enkindling zeal, which Blessed Basil Moreau described as a burning desire to make God known, loved, and served. Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing and executing strategic publicity plans to create buzz and excitement for our books, both new releases and backlist titles.
• Crafting compelling press releases, pitches, and promotional materials that capture the essence of our books and authors.
• Building and nurturing relationships with media contacts, reviewers, influencers, and faith-based organizations to secure high-impact coverage.
• Orchestrating author tours, virtual events, and interviews to enhance the visibility of our authors and their works.
• Collaborating closely with marketing, social media, and editorial teams to ensure a cohesive and impactful promotional strategy.
• Monitoring media trends, identifying opportunities, and adapting strategies to maximize our outreach.
• Analyzing and reporting on the success of publicity campaigns, gathering insights to continuously refine our approach.

Qualities

We are seeking a Publicist who embodies:
• Passion for writing, storytelling, and the mission of our Catholic company.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that captivate and inspire.
• Creativity in shaping narratives and crafting messages that resonate with diverse audiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with media professionals and authors.
• Proven track record of executing successful publicity campaigns, preferably in the publishing or related industry.
• Resourcefulness, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
• A deep understanding of the Catholic faith, its values, and its impact on media (knowledge of Catholic publishing landscape is a plus).

Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
• 5-plus years of experience in book publicity, media relations, or a related role.
• Proficiency in using PR tools and platforms.
• Familiarity with Catholic teachings, publishing, and building community. Actively practicing Catholic required.
