Job Summary: Under the direction of the pastor, this coordinator is responsible for the ongoing management of the catechetical and spiritual formation with primary focus on high school and secondary focus on adult parishioners. While this position may perform some events directly, the position will more often coach and oversee teams who assist with the various ministries. This position is guided in accordance with plans, programs, precedents, and procedures established or approved by the Pastor or Diocese along with parish leadership groups (ie Councils).

Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:
Primary
Oversee and direct CORE teams for youth ministry and adult groups with emphasis on high school youth ministry
Organize bi-annual summer high school retreat (Damascus, Steubenville, NCYC, etc.)
Interface with junior high youth ministry and assist with annual Confirmation Retreat day
Interface with children's ministries such as Vacation Bible School, Mass readings for children
Secondary
Assist with Religious Education two Sunday mornings to open, close and substitute teach
Assist with preparing an annual calendar of events and liturgies such as HS graduation Mass
Administration
Ensure budgets are submitted and tracked for materials, food, beverages, etc.
Interface with Safe Environment Coordinator for compliance of staff and volunteers
Interface with Principal and DRE to ensure curricula compliance and coordination
Meet with Pastor monthly to advise of plans, outcomes, needs and/or concerns
Prepare parish and diocesan reports as requested, ie. stewardship reporting
Attend diocesan and other formation meetings and retreats
Specific Job Skills/Qualifications
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills including public speaking
Ability to foster trust and respect among parish staff and volunteer teams
Collaborative work style, initiative, and flexibility
Strong sense of confidentiality.
Good organization and planning skills
Proficiency in Email, telephone/text/voicemail communications, MS Office
Preferred Education and Experience
A Degree in Teaching, Catechesis, Theology, Religious Education or related field is helpful
High level thinking skills
Physically qualified to work
Live according to tenets, teaching and practice of the Catholic faith
