Part-time summer help - custodian & maintenance Job Description - Beginning May 30 -August 4, 2023; Daily; Monday - Friday - preferably 8 hours

SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION: This position requires the employee to perform custodial and simple maintenance work.

Custodial: Under general supervision, performs cleaning tasks and operation of various types of cleaning equipment to care for and maintain assigned buildings and related facilities; performs related work as required; directed by Facilities & Maintenance staff.

Sweeps and mops floors; vacuums, strips, and polishes floors with floor machine, as needed; on occasion, helps set up classrooms and other areas as needed. (this may include rearranging and putting up cafeteria tables and chairs); may be required to move furniture when cleaning classrooms; cleans windows and doors, as needed; cleans restrooms, including floors, sinks and toilet facilities; replaces restroom products and supplies, as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Maintenance: Functions include worker performing jobs under general direction within a framework of established procedures. Must have knowledge of general tools, their care, and/or use. Floor refinishing, landscaping, painting, trash removal, moving furniture to refinish floors.

GENERAL SKILLS: Understanding and carrying out oral and written directions; cleaning and caring for assigned areas and equipment; working knowledge of the operation of the tools, materials and equipment provided; setting work priorities; working independently in the absence of supervision; punctual and reliable, establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work; ability to, at times, lift heavy items in a safe manner.

Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, disciplined, purpose driven, hardworking, works well with others or independently and follows up on direction and duties. The ability to accomplish parish functions in a timely manner and oversee completion of responsibilities.
