OSV News is seeking an excellent Washington, D.C.-based reporter to conduct interviews and write stories on U.S. politics and other national news events pertaining to the Catholic Church. Position reports to the National News Editor.
Essential Job Functions:
Accurately and fairly conduct interviews and write stories of national import Cover the D.C. political scene, including Congress, Supreme Court, and White House Work with National News Editor to determine assignments Turn around copy quickly and professionally Participate in a team-centric environment that adheres to the Catholic Media Association's Fair Publishing Practices Code Requirements
Skills and Abilities:
Exemplary writing and interviewing skills Ability to meet quick deadlines without sacrificing quality Strong knowledge of the Catholic Church and its structure Ability to put information into context for a Catholic audience A passion for accuracy and truth-telling Ability to work well within a team Strong knowledge of AP style Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in Catholic media Strong knowledge of the Catholic Church Working Environment:
Incumbent will be working in a remote office environment based in Northern Virginia, Maryland, or D.C. Must be able to sit for the majority of their shift
