OSV News is seeking an International Editor with a strong understanding of the Catholic Church to identify, acquire and edit information about events, issues and trends that affect Catholics around the world. Position reports to Editor-in-Chief of OSV News.
Essential Job Functions:
Identify and manage a team of freelance writers around the world to provide quality content on international topics Keep track of international events and trends Ensure that copy is accurate and reflects the teaching of the Catholic Church Turn around copy quickly and professionally Play a key role on the OSV News team, contributing to content planning and special projects as needed Participate in a team-centric environment that adheres to the Catholic Media Association's Fair Publishing Practices Code Requirements
Skills and Abilities: Exemplary writing and editing skills Strong knowledge of the Catholic Church and its structure Ability to effectively manage a team of freelance writers Good organizational skills A passion for accuracy and truth-telling Ability to work well within a team Strong knowledge of ap style Knowledge of the global church a plus
Experience: Minimum 5-8 years of experience Strong knowledge of the Catholic Church Working Environment:
Incumbent will be working in a remote office environment Must be able to sit for the majority of their shift Supervisory Responsibilities:
