Chesterton Academy of The Holy Family, a joyfully Catholic, classical high school, seeks talented and dynamic Math and/or Science teachers to join our team starting in the 2023 - 24 academic year.
Requirements
A bachelor's or master's degree in Mathematics and/or Science is required, and previous experience teaching Geometry (including Euclidean Geometry), Algebra 1 or 2, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, or Calculus is preferred. Our math department is winning state competitions! Students compete in many events.
In science, we teach Earth Science/Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Specifically for 23-24, we are looking for Physics, Euclidean Geometry, Algebra 2 & Trigonometry and other math classes.
The candidate must be a practicing Catholic, willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, and contribute to the vision and mission of an apostolic and educational enterprise.
In addition to their teaching responsibilities, faculty at Chesterton Academy take part in all aspects of school life including attending daily Mass with the student body, participating in the House system, and attending and assisting with various school events.
Start Date: Contracts start July 1, 2023. All teachers are expected to attend the Chesterton Schools Network Conference in late July. The in-service for the beginning of the school year takes place during the first two weeks of August. Salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision and 401K sharing plan.
