After years of working together in serving women and children, Vincent de Paul and Louise de Marillac founded the Daughters of Charity. Today, the Daughters have extended their reach into a vast, global network of ministries and sponsored works, impacting tens of thousands of individuals in economically impoverished and neglected communities around the world each day. As a sponsored work of the Daughters of Charity, Marillac St. Vincent provides vital programs and services in the areas of early childhood education, youth services, and a host of other individual and family services. The organization has two centers, Marillac Social Center located on the city's West Side, and its North Side location, St. Vincent de Paul Center.
The next CEO will be charged with expanding the scope of resources within the organization while maintaining a mission-focused approach by deepening the Vincentian charism of service that respects and promotes the sacred dignity of every human being. Working in partnership with a dedicated, mission-focused staff and a supportive Board of Directors, the CEO will develop and implement the organization's Strategic Plan with a particular focus on diversifying revenues and enhancing the impact of Marillac St. Vincent over the next three - five years. The CEO will lead the team in thinking strategically - by outlining potential service line changes, program enhancements, and staff engagement initiatives that will allow Marillac St. Vincent to meet the needs of more individuals, strengthen financial performance, and expand the reach of the organization.
The candidate we seek will be a proven and effective strategic leader who is passionate about the mission and values of Marillac and its service to the community. This entrepreneurial individual will bring leadership characterized by a big-picture, visionary outlook; the ability to garner broad internal and external support; demonstrated success creating strong, effective, collaborative teams; sound business, financial and management acumen; the propensity to increase the visibility and philanthropic resources for the organization; and the fortitude to carry forward new projects and initiatives.
Experience in a large, complex, multi-site organization and experience in a highly regulated organization that is reliant on government funding is advantageous. With a strong focus on strategic planning and management, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership developing a compelling and inspired vision and mobilizing the organization in its achievement. Experience nurturing a culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence among staff in a complex enterprise is desired. A proven track record of building a strong, high performing leadership team is essential. The ability to lead employees in multiple locations as an effective team of closely coordinated, highly professional, accountable staff members is a must.
A bachelor's degree is required; a graduate degree in an appropriate discipline, such as organization development, business management or social services administration is preferred. Candidates shall have served in executive leadership roles, with a minimum of 10 years progressive management experience with organizations of similar mission, size and/or complexity. Affiliation with and leadership in local, state or national professional associations and continuing education and professional development is a plus.
The salary range for this position is $200k to $225k.
