The Opportunity We are seeking a caring, dependable, and mission-aligned Pre-K3 Teacher Assistant to join our Early Childhood team. This is a part-time hourly position supporting our youngest learners, ages 3-4. The ideal candidate is joyful, patient, and organized, with a genuine love for working with children in a nurturing, faith-filled environment.
Position Overview As the Pre-K3 Teacher Assistant, you will support the Lead Teacher and the Director of Early Childhood in creating a warm, structured, and engaging classroom environment. You will assist in implementing lessons, classroom routines, and activities that support the intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual development of each child.
Key Responsibilities Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lessons, routines, and classroom management strategies Foster a positive and loving environment that encourages curiosity, kindness, and independence Supervise students indoors and outdoors, ensuring safety and engagement at all times Prepare classroom materials and help maintain a clean, organized learning space Communicate professionally with colleagues, administrators, and parents Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school events as requested Uphold the mission and values of Royal Palm Academy in every aspect of your professional life
Qualifications High school diploma required; college coursework in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred Minimum of one year of experience working with preschool or early elementary-aged children (ages 3-7) Reliable, organized, flexible, and energetic team player Excellent communication skills and strong rapport with young children Commitment to the mission and Catholic identity of Royal Palm Academy A deep love for young children and their growth and development
Preferred Qualifications Experience in a Catholic or independent school environment (preferred but not required) Coursework in Early Childhood Education (but not required)
Physical and Other Demands Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and actively supervise children indoors and outdoors Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as standing, sitting, bending, and walking throughout the day Maintain professionalism, patience, and composure in a dynamic school environment
