Learning Support Teacher Assistant

Royal Palm Academy is growing has an opening for a Learning Support Teacher Assistant for the 2023-2024 school year. This position can be structured as a part-time (20 hours) or full-time (30+ hours) hourly position. Royal Palm Academy offers competitive compensation and benefits for candidates to join our highly qualified faculty and staff. THE POSITION: Learning Support Teacher Assistant

COMPENSATION: Range of $18-$22 per hour

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

An undergraduate degree or equivalent certification in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related program.
Orton-Gillingham certified is preferred (not a hiring prerequisite).
Experience working with students with learning challenges, developing a plan with the classroom teacher, tracking Response to Intervention, and handling parent communication with empathy.
Experience and some knowledge of special education laws and regulations is a plus.
Ability to develop and implement education plans as part of a RTI team.

PHYSICAL AND OTHER DEMANDS INCLUDE:
Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as computer keyboarding, writing, and reading.
Required to maintain composure and to communicate appropriately in words and actions with students, parents, and fellow teachers.
