Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree preferred in Theology, Catechetics or related subjects.
May be substituted with suitable experience working in youth ministry
Must be able to articulately express Church teachings on variety of topics fitting to youth formation and relevant to their needs and concerns
Has experience working with High School and/or Middle School aged youth
Self-starter and able to take initiative, especially when problem-solving, as well as managing a shifting schedule of work hours depending on weekly events' schedule
Capable of forming and managing a core team of individuals to be mentors and examples of faith for teens.
Competency with modern forms of communication and social media (including Google suite, Flocknote, Instagram, Facebook, Canva, Dropbox, Linktree) preferred
Skilled planner capable of clear and timely communication to ensure maximal success and attendance at events
General Job Duties:
Adjust office schedule according to ministry demands while maintaining a full-time status.
Report directly to the Faith Formation Director for duties and direction.
Plan and coordinate execution of all events for Middle School "Edge" (6th-8th) and High School "Lifeteen" (9th-12th) Youth Groups, and other parish and community youth events.
Work with the Faith Formation team to find or create content for sessions in accordance with Diocesan policy.
Plan and Coordinate youth summer camp trips, retreats, missions, and service activities throughout the year: especially Hidden Lake and Covecrest Camp Fundraising, Reservations, and Execution
Form a core team of adults who will assist in facilitation of youth ministry and be models of faith for youth
As part of the Faith Formation team, assist in other areas related to faith formation in the parish. I.E. teaching and coordinating the Confirmation program.
Help prepare and develop a department budget with the Faith Formation team and stay within budget guidelines.
Ensure the welfare and safety of youth when away from the parish.
Ensure fingerprinting, background checks and Safe Environment workshops are completed by all volunteers working with children and youth according to the Bishop's Charter for the Protection of Young People.
Other duties as assigned by the Faith Formation Director and/or Pastor.
