The Archdiocese of Miami Pastoral Center's Office of Catechesis is seeking a Full-Time Administrative Assistant to the Director of Catechesis in the catechist formation process for parish and Catholic school catechists. This position will provide administrative support to the catechists at parishes in their process catechetical formation leading to certification. Primary duties include data entry, filing, correspondence, following up on customer service inquiries regarding office policies and programs, and publishing postings on appropriate social media and the Office of Catechesis webpage. The Administrative Assistant performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.
High School diploma or GED and one year of clerical experience in a customer-service environment required; Bachelor's degree in theology preferred.
Completion of Virtus Training in accordance with Archdiocese of Miami's safety policies.
Available to prepare, set up, and clean up some evening or weekend events.
Good data entry and time management skills, including ability to manage several projects at the same time with accuracy.
Able to walk, drive, and stand for prolonged hours as required by catechetical course sessions.
Proficient computer literacy, including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent customer service skills, including ability to maintain focus and professionalism with people in challenging situations, both in person and by phone.
Strong oral and written English communication skills.
Good Spanish spoken communications skills a plus.
Supportive of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; previous experience in a Catholic parish environment a plus.
Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church and parish structures.
Must have a professional demeanor.
