Coordinator for Office of Evangelization and Parish Life

The Archdiocese of Miami Pastoral Center has an opening for a full-time Coordinator for the Office of Evangelization and Parish Life, who will be responsible for supporting the activities of this office, namely: Evangelization, Adult Faith Formation, Leadership Development, and Special Events. S/he will support the mission of the Office by leading event planning efforts, creating/ developing registration forms and processes, and providing support for the parishes who are involved in the various programs that the office conducts. This position will require occasional evening and weekend hours. The Coordinator for the Office of Evangelization and Parish Life performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Director, research and provide the most relevant Evangelization resources for the Archdiocese of Miami.
Assist parishes in the continued development of an effective plan for evangelization based on the current model of Outreach, Evangelization, Discipleship, and Mission process.
Collaborate with the other ministries on the Secretariat team for a variety of activities for the ministries of the New Evangelization.
Help coordinate events for Evangelization and Parish Life in the languages of the ADOM. This includes securing locations for events, creating registration processes, ordering food, managing hospitality, obtaining translation services if necessary, and helping parishes troubleshoot any areas of difficulty.
Maintain the evangelization website, which includes developing appropriate resources and archiving newsletters.
Maintain an online presence of evangelization through media outlets including, but not limited to Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and blogging efforts.
In collaboration with the manager, research and provide the most relevant Adult Faith Formation resources for the ADOM to build up well-formed "Parish Missionary Disciples".
Help develop multiple train-the-trainer delivery systems for Adult Faith Formation to equip our parishes to reach various peoples in the different stages of faith development within their communities.
Advocate for Adult Faith Formation in parishes with thorough communication strategies.
Develop strategies to assess the faith formation needs of diverse adult groups in the Archdiocese and provide information on ways to meet their formation needs. Utilize the data for design and development of programs.
Active participation in workshops and teach others using a train-the-trainer model of ministry replication.
Build and maintain good relationships with church personnel in the parish, including employees, volunteers in ministry, etc.
Support parishes and lay apostolic movements by developing, scheduling and/or facilitating workshops and retreats.
Contribute to the Archdiocesan blog, Archdiocese of Miami web site, or other media as assigned.
Work with staff and team members to evaluate and plan programs.
Assist in the process of researching and booking speakers, including all necessary paperwork, airfare, hotel, and other travel arrangements.
Develop effective marketing campaigns for office workshops, retreats, classes, and other resources offered.
Write press releases, event postings and other materials for information dissemination in media and intranet, updating periodically and according to needs.
Demonstrate fidelity and support for and of church leadership.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of Roman Catholic Theology, Tradition and Ecclesiology required.
Undergraduate degree in Theology, Religious Studies or Ministry is required, or an undergraduate degree in Communications and Marketing with formal studies in the Catholic Faith; Dual Degrees in Theological Studies with Communications and Marketing preferred.
Three (3) years of professional work experience in the Catholic Church or in Marketing and Communications required; Five (5) years of professional work experience in the Catholic Church or in Marketing and Communications is preferred.
Diocesan experience is a plus.
Excellent customer service skills, including ability to maintain focus on and professionalism with people in challenging situations, both in person and by phone.
Sensitivity to marketing to the people of the ADOM.
Demonstrated comfort in multi-cultural setting.
Good time management skills, including the ability to manage several projects at the same time with accuracy.
Proficiency in Constant Contact, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and social media platforms.
Effective oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
Good oral and written Spanish skills preferred.
Demonstrates characteristics and qualities of a Roman Catholic lay leader, including excellent character, confidentiality, and discretion, while demonstrating integrity and support of the teachings and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Miami.
Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church and parish structures.
Must have a professional demeanor.
