Legacy Giving Coordinator, part-time 20 hours per week
The Legacy Giving Coordinator supports legacy and gift planning efforts to the parishes, ministries and programs of the Diocese of Wilmington.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Coordinate activities for the Legacy Giving work in development.
• Work with the Crescendo planned giving program to coordinate communications, inquiries, facilitation of requests and outreach. Manage the Gift Planning office's general e-mail and telephone inquiries.
• Maintain bequest expectancy lists and donor files.
• Facilitate new gift expectancy processes.
• Responsible for coding and data entry, including processing of gifts.
• Prepare letters and other correspondence and coordinate schedules, calendars, etc. for marketing and communications of Planned Gifts.
• Update CRM and internal tracking system.
• Request information and following up as necessary.
• Special donor mailings and follow-up.
OTHER DUTIES:
• Monitor periodic reports.
• Work with Gift Processing, Finance, and other departments as necessary.
• Assist with estate tracking processes.
• Research requests as needed.
• Other duties or projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• HS diploma and 1 year of experience in a non-profit environment or equivalent combination of education and experience with a working knowledge of or ability to learn Gift Planning operations and common knowledge of fundraising best practices and procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience in or ability to learn Raiser's Edge, Blackbaud, CRM, including Gift Planning software (Crescendo).
• Data-entry skills including the ability to type with speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, keep positive attitude, and maintain a professional demeanor while working both independently and as part of a team and with donors/stakeholders of varying socio-economic backgrounds.
• Proven ability to problem-solve, think critically, and use good judgment in situations that require sensitivity and tact.
• Outstanding attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, and organizational skills
• Customer service orientation with the ability to be very flexible and adapt to change quickly.
• Excellent prioritization and time-management skills.
