PRINCIPAL (PreK-8)

CHRIST THE TEACHER CATHOLIC SCHOOL (CTTCS), seeks qualified applicants for the position of PRINCIPAL beginning July 1, 2023. This diocesan, regional Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8 school, located on a 40-acre campus in Newark, Delaware opened in 2002 and is sponsored by four local parishes. CTTCS has a stable enrollment of 600 students, has been recognized twice as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, has been an eight-time recipient of the Anti-defamation League's "No Place For Hate" award, has received the Innovations in Catholic Education Award from Today's Catholic Teacher, and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The school is strong in Catholic Identity and in 2022 became an affiliated member of Mercy Education, strengthening their commitment to the Mercy Charism of the school and their four pillars - Mercy, Hospitality, Service, and Excellence. CTTCS provides a rigorous curricular program with state-of-the-art technology and diversified co-curricular and extra-curricular programs. The students have a proven track record of excellence; graduates of CTTCS receive scholarships in highly competitive high schools and win numerous club and athletic awards. The principal works closely with the pastors of supporting parishes, the diocesan Catholic Schools Office, two assistant principals, a faculty and staff of approximately 60, and a school advisory board.

The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:

• Live as a practicing Catholic
• Hold an advanced degree (Master's or higher) from an accredited institution in an area of study that supports the role/responsibilities of the position
• Have a minimum of five years teaching experience at the elementary school level (Catholic school experience as a teacher/administrator preferred)
• Hold or be eligible for Delaware or Maryland licensing/certification (Catholic Theology or Ministry degree is exempt from this requirement)
