The purpose of this written job description is to provide clarity of the expectations All Souls Catholic Parish in Englewood has for the above-mentioned position and employee.
While not a complete list, the following are examples of duties associated with this position. Other related expectations, responsibilities, and tasks are required at times. You are expected to be adaptive and receptive to the varying requirements of this position.
This position is responsible for assisting pastors and parish leaders in implementing and developing various programs and initiatives in the areas of evangelization, discipleship, and the training and commissioning of apostolic leaders. This position requires a dynamic person who can interact with a variety of personalities, easily adapt to quickly changing situations, and is passionate about helping parishes further the mission of Jesus Christ.
Strategy: Work with Fr. Rick and the strategy team to implement programs that will fulfill the mission of the church. Our mission statement is, "All Souls is a family the Father rescues, transforms and sends." This position works with Communio and possibly other outside entities. Communio is a nonprofit that consults with churches equipping them with proven strategies and technologies to solve our nation's family and faith crisis. Work with The Archdiocese of Denver if they request a specific synod or offer initiatives for the parish.
Calendar & Community Events: Maintain the master calendar in collaboration with the Front Office Receptionist for the parish. Maintenance consists of adding new events, deleting old events, and ensuring there are no conflicting events on the schedule. Report on all events at the weekly staff meeting. Organize and run community events for the Parish, School, ELC, and the Home & School parent group. Examples are the annual parish picnic, backyard theology & Oktoberfest. Collaborates with communications specialist on all parish updates and media announcements.
Sacramental Coordination: Plan and coordinate all adult faith formation classes. Collaborate with Deacon Kevin on all other details involving Sacraments of Initiation, which consists of the upkeep of sacramental records, registry, and archive report. Assist the Pastor in the planning and carrying out of all funerals.
Liturgical Coordination: Plan dates of major liturgical feast days with the pastor. Oversee liturgical ministries including altar servers, sacristans, lectors, and ushers. Schedule all liturgical ministries and send out monthly calendar. Christmas and Easter are busy times and require a commitment to managing events.
Ministries: Contact and coordinate with all parish ministries. Help plan and oversee ministry events. This includes working with volunteers to lead classes as well as organizing events and retreats. Conduct training for the Liturgical Ministries (i.e.: lector, sacristan, altar server, etc.).
